SPRING = Inspiration, Energy, Action!
I have always loved Spring!
Spring has always brought a new energy into my year and with that energy, a desire to simply “spring into action!” This can mean something as simple as cleaning out our closets or getting that fitness routine back on track after winter hibernation!
Spring has always been more like my personal “January”! I often reflect on how I am doing with those goals I set at the beginning of the year and then give myself a little “talking to!” Not that some things on the goal list haven’t been accomplished, because they have – for example, I chose my word for 2019 as “Vibrant”, and in many ways I am simply feeling better and getting more done.
I’m a planner, something that my family and friends often tease me about. It’s an attribute that can be both a blessing and a curse.
The blessing is that you usually know your calendar inside out and backwards, which is great when you want to “tick” off things on the to-do list, or make sure that you really “do” the dinner date with someone you’ve been missing.
The curse, however, is that you can overbook yourself which leads to not getting some things done that you had every intension of doing!
Space + Morning Rituals
A few years ago, after yet another enlightening session with my coach, Maja Karlsson, I came up with the idea of creating a special place in our home that would be “my space”. It isn’t anything elaborate – basically just a comfy chair, pillow and colourful blanket in the corner of one of our bedrooms with a side table, a candle, journal and my favourite books.
Being early risers (my husband and I are usually awake by 5 am!), I have found this little sanctuary as the spot where I can set my day up for success. When I spend some quiet time, journaling, doing a meditation and thinking about the day….it inevitably goes better, and I love that!
What have you planned for your “Spring Renewal?”
Do you take the time to spend alone with your thoughts contemplating your hopes and dreams?
I’d love to hear from you in the comments below!
